Recl in your AI assistant (MCP)
Connect your Recl library to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other assistants that support remote MCP servers. Ask about what you saved, find that video again, save a link from a chat and review what's due — from the assistant you already use.
Server address
Recl runs a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP). Add it to your assistant as a custom connector or MCP server with this URL:

The first time, the assistant opens a Recl sign-in window: sign in with the Google or Apple account you use for Recl, check what the app is asking for, and press Allow. There are no API keys to copy.
Connecting an app
- ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors (or Connectors) → Add / Create, then paste the URL above.
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Recl and paste the URL above.
- Grok: open grok.com/connectors, add a custom connector and paste the URL above.
- Where custom connectors are available depends on the app and your plan with it.
- Cursor: Add Recl to Cursor (one click), or add it to

What the assistant can do

Permissions and limits
- Read: search and open your saves and see what's due. Add: save links, mark reviews done and ask questions.
- Saving and asking follow your plan exactly as the app does: free accounts get a few free saves and Ask answers, Recl Pro gets a monthly allowance. When a limit is reached the assistant is told so, with a link to upgrade.
- Very long videos (5 hours or more) are only saved after you confirm.
- There are rate limits per account and per app to keep things fast for everyone.

Privacy and disconnecting
- An app you connect can only reach your own library — never other people's saves, and never your Google or Apple account.
- Recl does not see your conversations. The app only receives what its Recl tools return; how it then handles that text is up to the app's own privacy terms.
- Access is short-lived and renewed while you use the app. Disconnect any app in Settings → Connected apps on app.recl.app: it loses access on its next request.
- Saved content (titles, summaries, notes) can contain text written by other people. Recl returns it to the assistant as data and tells the assistant not to follow instructions found inside it.
