How the Recl Chrome extension works

The extension is the fastest way to save. It puts Recl one click away on every page — a video, an article, a thread, or a sentence worth keeping — and hands it to the same library, summaries, and recall as everything else. Here is how to set it up and use it.

01

Install the extension

Add Recl — Save & Remember from the Chrome Web Store. A Recl icon appears in your toolbar; pin it so it is always within reach.

02

Connect it to your account

Visit app.recl.app/extension/connect while signed in and the extension links to your account automatically — no API keys to paste. That is it: the token refreshes itself, so you only ever reconnect if you sign out everywhere.

03

Save with one click

On a YouTube watch page, a Recl button sits right in the action row next to Like and Share — click it to save the video. On other sites, a floating Recl chip does the same for the page you are on (you can reposition or hide it in the extension options). Recl builds the summary in the background; you keep browsing.

04

Save a link, page, or quote

There is more than one way to grab something:

  • Right-click to save the current page, a link you are hovering, or selected text as a quote.
  • Select a sentence worth keeping and save it — Recl holds it as a quote you can recall later, not just a bookmark.
  • Prefer the keyboard? Ctrl+Shift+S saves the page you are on.

05

Search your videos from the side panel

Click the toolbar icon and the Recl side panel opens beside the page. On its Home tab you can search your saved videos by meaning — type what you remember, not the exact words — see your most recent saves, and save the page you are on, all without leaving it. Library and Profile are one tab away.

Privacy and control

  • The extension only sends anything when you explicitly save. It does not log your browsing.
  • Saved bookmarks are organised into per-site folders automatically, so your library stays tidy on its own.
  • You can revoke the extension's token at any time from Settings → Extension in the web app.

Save the next good thing in one click

The extension is included with every Recl plan, alongside the mobile share flow and the web dashboard. Every plan unlocks every feature, and you can cancel anytime.
