Save X posts, and come back to the good ones

Share a post from the X app to Recl, or save it from x.com in Chrome. Recl keeps a short post's words exactly, summarizes a long one, reads the captions when a post carries a video, and files it under its topics so it comes back after 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 and 60 days.

Steps checked against the app on 23 October 2026.

How to save an X post to Recl

On iPhone or Android

  1. Open the post in X and tap the Share icon.
  2. Choose Share via… (or Share post via…) to open your phone's share sheet, then pick Recl.
  3. Recl saves it in a sheet over X. Add a note if you want, then tap Done.

In Chrome on a computer

  1. Install the Recl extension from the Chrome Web Store and connect it to your account (one visit to app.recl.app/extension/connect while signed in).
  2. Open the post on x.com (its own page, not the timeline) and click the Recl chip.
  3. Choose Summarize for the full save (a paid feature in the extension), or Bookmark to keep the link.

With the link

  1. Copy the post's link.
  2. Paste it into the + tab in the Recl app, or the save box on app.recl.app.

What Recl does with an X post

The words, not just the link

A short post is kept word for word, which is usually what you wanted from it. A long post gets a summary with the key points.

Video posts get read

When a post carries a video, Recl reads its captions, or transcribes it when the clip is up to three minutes long.

Out of your bookmarks pile

Each post is filed under the topics it covers, next to the videos and articles on the same subject, and in an x.com folder with your other posts.

Brought back before you forget

The key ideas come back as a recall card after 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 and 60 days. One tap marks a card reviewed and moves it to the next, longer gap; after the last step it stops coming back.

Add the context

After you share, type a note on the save: the rest of a thread, the reply that mattered, or why you kept it.

Good to know

  • Recl saves the one post you share. It doesn't stitch a thread together, so share the post that holds the idea and put the rest in a note.
  • Posts from protected accounts can't be read.
  • Speech is transcribed for video clips up to three minutes long; longer videos without captions are saved from the post's text.

Frequently asked questions

Can Recl save a whole thread?
Not as one item. Recl saves the post you share. Share the post that carries the idea, or save the first post and add the rest as a note.
Does Recl need access to my X account?
No. You share a link to Recl; it doesn't connect to your X account or read your bookmarks.
Is a short post rewritten by AI?
No. A short post is kept exactly as written. Only long posts are summarized.
