Saving a YouTube video is the fastest way to see what Recl does. On the dashboard, paste any youtube.com/watch?v=… or youtu.be/… URL into the Save anything box and press Enter.
Within a few seconds you'll get a summary card with 3–10 key takeaways, clickable timestamp jumps, and a concise + elaborate rewrite to suit how much time you have. Everything is then queued into your spaced-repetition rotation so you'll see it again at the right moment.
What gets saved
- Title, channel, duration, thumbnail.
- Full transcript with second-accurate timestamps.

What if transcripts are missing?
Recl tries three transcript sources before giving up. If a video genuinely has no captions and no clear audio, you'll see a friendly no_transcript notice and the video will sit in your library without a summary. Most videos work — if one doesn't, drop us a note (see Help & Contact).
